Republic Records/The Recording AcademyCountry music makes an impressive showing on this year’s 2016 Grammy Nominees album, with one-third of its 21 tracks devoted to tunes with Nashville roots. The collection contains a song from each of country’s all-genre contenders:  “Traveller” by Album of the Year contender Chris Stapleton, Little Big Town’s Song nominee “Girl Crush,” and “Take Your Time” from potential Best New Artist Sam Hunt.

All five titles from the Best Country Solo Performance category are here as well: Cam’s “Burning House,” “Little Toys Guns” by Carrie Underwood, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” from Keith Urban, and Lee Ann Womack’s “Chances Are.” Stapleton’s song is up for the honor as well.

The album will be available digitally and in stores on January 22, but we’ll have to wait until February 15 to find out who takes home the gramophones.
