Black River EntertainmentKelsea Ballerini is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year at the upcoming 51st CMA Awards, but she’s already locked in another prize, which she’ll receive days before the November 8 ceremony.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers will give Kelsea its Vanguard honor at the 55th ASCAP Country Music Awards on Monday, November 6 at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.

The night pays tribute to the songwriters and publishers behind the most-performed songs of 2016. The Vanguard Award goes specifically to someone ASCAP believes is shaping the future of American music. Chris Stapleton picked up the honor last year.

Late 80’s hitmaker Rodney Crowell will be given the prestigious Founders Award that evening as well.

Kelsea’s sophomore album, Unapologetically, comes out just a few days before the ceremony, on November 3. It features the top-30 lead single, “Legends.”
