Academy of Country MusicThe 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast not only delivered a big win for CBS Sunday night, according to Variety, but Nielsen numbers also say the golden anniversary gala from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas garnered the ACM’s largest audience in the last 17 years.

More than 16 million viewers tuned in to see the show, hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan. That’s a ten percent increase from last year, and about three times the 18 to 49-year-old audience CBS typically draws on a Sunday night. This was the first year the show has gone until 11:30, with the audience dipping just below 16 million its final half hour.
