ABC/Image Group LAWhen Kenny Chesney announced he would bring his Spread the Love Tour to Boston’s Gillette Stadium on Friday, August 26, he confesses he was hoping it would sell well enough to add a second show, especially since he bested his own record there this past summer, filling more than 120,000 seats over two days. Now his dreams have come true. Kenny and tour mates Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Old Dominion will now stick around and play on Saturday, August 27 as well.

“You never want to just assume people are as into you as you are to them. The people of New England, and especially Boston, have been so good to us for so long — and after this year, I didn’t want to assume we could do those kinds of numbers a second straight year. But once we went up on sale, we realized this year could be even bigger than last year… which is crazy.”

Kenny sold out his first show at the home of the New England Patriots in 2005, adding a dozen more to his credit over eight years. Pre-sales for the new date start Tuesday at 10 a.m. ET,  before tickets to both Boston shows go on sale to the public on Friday.
