Alan Jackson has wanted to make a bluegrass album for years now, and that dream is now a reality with the Tuesday release of Alan's new project, The Bluegrass Album.
Alan assembled some of bluegrass's top players and wrote several original songs for the album. He also put his stamp on Bill Monroe's "Blue Moon of Kentucky" and John Anderson's "Wild and Blue."
Alan hopes bluegrass fans realize his sincerity in releasing the album. "Well, I just am a fan of the music, and I didn’t want to do something that disappointed the bluegrass world," Alan confesses. "I didn’t want them to think I was just another country act wanting to make a bluegrass album."
Alan will support The Bluegrass Album with a concert at New York City's Carnegie Hall on October 28.
