Lace up the cleats, throw on the pads, and make sure your helmet is strapped on tight…it’s time to play…FOOTBALL!!
Once again, Hot Country B1047 will be your home for high school football action here in northeast Kansas! Join us Friday nights at 6:30pm as we follow your team on the Dick Edwards Ford Area Game of the Week.
2015 is our 14th year bringing you great high school football games featuring our area teams: Riley County, Rock Creek, Wamego, and Blue Valley! But our coverage doesn’t stop there! We’ll keep you updated on all the area action, including the Centennial, North Central Kansas, Mid-East, and Twin Valley leagues. Brandon Tadtman and Dick Dugan will be in the booth with the play-by-play, and Bill Williams will be in studio with scores from all over northeast Kansas.

It’s all brought to you by Dick Edwards Ford Lincoln Mazda & Hyundai…just minutes east of the Manhattan Town Center on highway 24. Check out the great selection of new and pre-owned cars and trucks. They can also service your vehicle, do body work, and don’t forget about that legendary speedy service with Quick Lane!
It’s the second week of district play for nearly all of our area teams, which means this next game could make or break a team’s chance to make the playoffs. Teams that won last week can go to 2-0 in the district and be in the catbird seat, while teams that lost last week don’t want to risk falling to 0-2 with just one game left. Suffice it to say…this next game is huge regardless of whether you’re 1-0 or 0-1 in district play.
This Friday night, we’ll be at the Sports Complex in Wamego as the Red Raiders (6-1) host the Smoky Valley Vikings (4-3). Both the Red Raiders and the Vikings were winners last week; Wamego topped Chapman 20-6 and Smoky Valley beat Nickerson 14-2. Our coverage begins with pregame at 6:30, followed by kickoff at 7:00pm.
Over on KMAN, Manhattan will look to bounce back after a district loss to Topeka 52-41…they’ll host Lawrence Free State (also 1-0 in district) at Bishop Stadium. The Tribe will bring their best effort; a loss to the Firebirds will put MHS at 0-2 in the district with a game at Washburn Rural the only one left on the regular season docket.
Follow high school football all season long…the Dick Edwards Ford Area Game of the Week…on Hot Country B1047!
