Wrigley Field, the longtime venerable home of the Chicago Cubs, has seen it’s share of lackluster baseball. And this season is no different, with the Cubbies well out of the race. Country music, on the other hand, is very well received at Wrigley.
Blake Shelton, who recently broke his own record with his 17th consecutive #1 single, played a sold out show last night to nearly 40,000 fans. His set, which included his early hits plus more recent tunes, featured 20 songs along with a few jokes and banter with the enthusiastic crowd.
“This is without a doubt,” Shelton said as he eased into his final songs of the show, “the biggest night in my country music career, man.”
Of course, we’ll see Blake next summer at the 20th annual Country Stampede! Get your tickets now!
