AtlanticBrett Eldredge will remember 2016 as the year all his Cubs dreams came true. The Illinois native decided to forego attending Wednesday night’s 50th Annual CMA Awards, so he could attend game 7 of the World Series.

After the Chicago team’s victory over the Cleveland Indians, he shared a childhood photo of himself and his brother with his dad all decked out in Cubs gear, next to a present-day picture of all three at the game. “Got to fulfill a lifelong dream as a family… the Cubs are WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS,” he added.

Friday, he both got to hold the Major League Baseball Commissioner’s Trophy and perform “Go Cubs Go” after the victory parade from Wrigley Field to Grant Park.

Brett quickly got back to work though, with shows in both Milwaukee and Minneapolis over the weekend. Tuesday, he’ll be back in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry House to perform songs from his new Glow holiday album, as part of this year’s CMA Country Christmas taping.
