Arista NashvilleNashville’s Bridgestone Arena may typically be the home turf of Predators’ captain Mike Fisher, but on Thursday night, it was his wife’s turn. Fifteen-thousand fans, including Kelsea Ballerini and Dan+Shay’s Shay Mooney, all turned out to see Carrie Underwood’s hometown stop on her Storyteller tour.

The impressive in-the-round moving stage, pyrotechnics, and wardrobe changes combined with Carrie’s stellar vocals and seemingly boundless energy to remind the Music City crowd the CMA host could very well walk away with the 2016 Entertainer of the Year trophy in November. Quiet moments like Carrie’s version of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” and “What I Never Knew I Always Wanted” were as captivating as the rest of her predominantly up-tempo set. Openers Easton Corbin and the Swon Brothers returned to the stage near the night’s end to join the headliner for their take on Alabama’s “Mountain Music.”

Afterwards, Carrie greeted her music industry friends and family at a lavish backstage Storyteller-themed party, complete with signature cocktails, a mock food truck and a caricature artist.
