Donn Jones/CMACarrie Underwood was anxious to get back in front of her fans at last month’s CMA Music Festival in Nashville. The performance at LP Field was one of Carrie’s first public appearances since giving birth to her son, Isaiah, earlier this year. If you couldn’t be there in person, Carrie’s set will be featured on ABC’s CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock coming up Tuesday, August 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
Before taking the stage for the massive crowd at the CMA Music Festival, Carrie said, “It has been a while. I’ve been very busy doing lots of other things. But the whole singing in front of people, I’m a little nervous, but I’m excited.”
Country artists always say they have the best fans in the world, but Carrie insists that cliché holds true. That’s why every artist who performs at the CMA Music Festival does so free of charge.
“I really do have the best fans,” she says. “I mean, there’s people that are in my fan club and everything that I have seen since day one. I know them. They know me. To have that support over the past 10 years has been really incredible.”
Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line and Brad Paisley are among the stars also performing on CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock. Little Big Town hosts the special for the third year in a row.
