Brad Paisley Having Nothing but a Good Time on New Album, “Moonshine in the Trunk”

Image Courtesy Arista NashvilleIf you’ve been paying attention to all the songs Brad Paisley has leaked from his new album, Moonshine in the Trunk, then you know he’s all about having a good time with this new batch of songs. In order to set the mood for the recording process, Brad installed a bar at the studio on his property south of Nashville. The result is an album full of songs tailor-made to help you forget your troubles.

“I mean, this is a honky-tonk record really in many ways,” Brad tells ABC News Radio. “It’s people getting together on a weekend or a Friday night or weeknight or anything where they sort of aren’t oblivious to the things that are wrong, they’re just preferring to sort of forget about those for a short amount of time and maybe look at the bright side.”

That party atmosphere has already given Brad’s shows on the Country Nation tour a big boost this summer. The lead single from the project, “River Bank,” has become a crowd favorite since Brad put it out a few months ago.

He says, “I think probably because of the mentality of that song — the idea of it being about a lifestyle is one of those songs that people will say, ‘I hope he plays “River Bank” tonight.’ And that’s always good when your latest single is the one they’re saying, ‘I hope he plays that.’”

Moonshine in the Trunk is now on sale. Fans who buy the ZinePak edition of Moonshine in the Trunk at Walmart will get to see photos of Brad’s new bar and other images from the recording process.

Lee Brice Still Following His Creative Instincts on New Album, “I Don’t Dance”

Image Courtesy CurbLee Brice spent years playing small club shows and writing hits for other artists before striking it big with his own string of hits. That time in the trenches gave Lee the confidence to do things his own way in the studio on his two previous albums, Love Like Crazy and Hard 2 Love. He’s still chasing his own sound on his upcoming project, I Don’t Dance.

Lee tells Ohio’s Youngstown Vindicator newspaper, “It’s been a lot of work but also a lot of fun. Also, I’ve been able to make these last two albums on my own, which proved to me you have to be yourself as an artist, and you can’t let the label tell you what to be or do.”

I Don’t Dance features the hit title track and his new single, “Drinking Class.” It comes out September 9.

Surprise! Dierks Bentley Is This Summer’s Hottest New Country Headliner

ABC News RadioDierks Bentley has been a staple at country radio for more than a decade now, so it may shock you to learn he’s just now stepped into the role of headlining his own major tour this year. While he’s co-headlined a trek with Miranda Lambert, Dierks is now playing to the biggest audiences of his career on the Riser Tour. This career development is something of a mystery for Dierks.

“I don’t know how the hell I’m here, really, but something’s happening,” Dierks tells Billboard. “Ten years into my career, I’m headlining these places, but I wouldn’t have it any other way, man. It’s been a great climb. A slow climb.”

That climb got a big boost from Dierks’ runaway summer hit, “Drunk on a Plane.” It’s such a highlight of his set, Dierks keeps pushing it back to later in the show.  He says, “It started off like fourth in the set list, then we moved it down to about sixth, then eighth, and now it’s down pretty far towards the bottom. It could be the bottom if I wanted it to be, it’s that big of a song.”

Cole Swindell ‘s Overnight Success Was Seven Years In the Making

Image Courtesy Warner Music NashvilleCole Swindell may seem like an overnight success, scoring a #1 hit with his debut single, “Chillin’ It,” but he spent seven years in Nashville before his music was ever played on country radio. During that time, Cole was busy writing songs and trying to get his music heard. In hindsight, he’s thankful for that time to grow as a writer and learn how the country industry really works.

Cole tells the Cincinnati Enquirer, “If this would have happened when I moved to Nashville there’s no way I would have been ready, but giving it a couple of years with me being around the business, growing up a little bit, that helped me get ready for everything that’s happened.”

It’s not that Cole doesn’t feel the pressure to continue cranking out hit songs and improving his live show.  He adds, “There’s a lot of people expecting things out of me. I want to do good. It’s a good kind of pressure.”

Cole’s latest single, “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” is now racing up the country chart. His self-titled debut album is available now.
