Sara Evans Hoping Her Organizational Skills Rub Off on Her Daughters

RCA NashvilleSara Evans prides herself on being very organized and keeping everything in its right place at her Birmingham home. Unfortunately, her daughters don’t always follow their mom’s example.

Sara tells ABC News Radio, “My girls are pretty slobby. I’m on them constantly to keep their room clean. I’m like,  ‘You’re a young woman. I’m not going to let you be just a slob just with clothes everywhere.’”

Though her girls may not appreciate it now, Sara knows her daughters will benefit from these lessons in the long run.

She explains, “I’m like, ‘You will cook for your husband and your family. You will keep a neat home. You will do these things as a woman!’ I mean, why would you not?”

Sara’s husband, Jay Barker, isn’t the most organized guy in the world either.

“He’s a typical guy in the sense that he will leave, and then pretty much every time he leaves, he has to come back and grab something,” Sara says. “I think most men do that.”

For now, Sara is mostly concerned with launching her new album, Slow Me Down. That album comes out next week featuring the hit title track.

David Nail Found All the Right Pieces to the Puzzle for New Album, “I’m a Fire”

MCA NashvilleDavid Nail‘s new album, I’m a Fire, is out this week featuring the #1 hit, “Whatever She’s Got” as well as the follow-up single, “Kiss You Tonight.” While the lead single was an obvious hit, David says he has a similar feeling about “Kiss You Tonight.”

“I felt like it was something immediately that I wanted to record,” David tells ABC News Radio. “There was just something different about it. It reminded me of — I won’t call out the songs — but it reminded me of some songs that have been some really big hits that when I first heard ‘em, I didn’t necessarily know that, but then they became huge songs.”

David found “Kiss You Tonight” pretty early on during the album-making process, and it helped assure him about the artistic direction he was taking with the rest of the songs.

Says David, “I feel like that this record was very much a puzzle and it was about finding pieces that kind of fit together and became one big picture, and ‘Kiss You Tonight’ was one of the early pieces to the puzzle.”

I’m a Fire features a duet vocal with Lee Ann Womack on the last track, a cover of a Glen Campbell‘s “Galveston.”

Taylor Swift Gets Restraining Order Against Man Who Believes He’s Married to Her

ABC/Jon LeMayTaylor Swift has obtained a temporary restraining order against a man who claims to be her husband.

In court documents obtained by TMZ, Swift claims Timothy Sweet has been harassing her with a barrage of letters, emails and social media posts since January 2011.

According to Swift’s legal documents, one of Sweet’s messages reads, “My wife, Taylor Swift (Sweet) and I live in Beverly Hills.  I am in love with her.  In conclusion, we treat each other with dignity and respect.  I will carry a gun to protect her the rest of my life.”

In another message to the singer, Sweet writes, “Dearest Taylor, I’ll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage.  Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State.  Message from YOUR Presidential Candidate.”

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered Sweet to stay 100 yards away from the singer and her family.

E! News reports the 33-year-old Sweet is also barred from contacting Swift through any electronic means.

The temporary restraining order remains in effect until March 25 when a hearing will be held to determine if the order should be extended.

George Strait Getting Sportsman Lifetime Achievement Award Thursday in Dallas

MCA NashvilleGeorge Strait is often hailed as the King of Country Music, but he spends just as much time thinking about land conservation as he does singing songs. That’s why Park Cities Quail is giving George the T. Boone Pickens Lifetime Sportsman Awards this Thursday in Dallas.

According to the Dallas Morning News, George was selected for the honor thanks to his work managing the wildlife habitats on his ranches in Texas. He’s worked with a wildlife biologist for years now to create healthy environments for the animals on his properties. The Country Music Hall of Fame member also manages the deer population on his ranches and mostly just hunts for “the ugliest buck he can remove from the herd.”

As for his music career, George will wrap up The Cowboy Rides Away tour this June in Dallas. Go to GeorgeStrait.com for tour dates.
