Mercury NashvilleScotty McCreery was the victim of a home-invasion style robbery early Monday morning in Raleigh, North Carolina. According to WTVD-TV, three men entered the apartment near the North Carolina State college campus at 2 a.m. and took cash, wallets and electronic items before fleeing the scene.
No one was hurt in the robbery, but the men made Scotty and his friends lay on the floor and count to 100 before they could get up. One of Scotty’s friends then called 911 and told the operator, “They took everything we have.”
Scotty released a statement Monday saying, “Yes, it was definitely a very scary night. Luckily, my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case. I will share more when the time is right, but as of now we do not want to do or say anything that could hinder the investigation. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. A huge thank you to the Raleigh PD for their quick response and hard work in solving this case.”
Scotty is a sophomore at North Carolina State University.

Republic NashvilleFlorida Georgia Line‘s Brian Kelley is quick to give a shout out to Jake Owen for his support of the duo in their early days.
Brian tells the Huffington Post, “Jake Owen has been extremely instrumental in getting us to where we are today. He took us on tour, got us more Twitter followers … he’s been everything for us and just a great friend, great person.”
FGL also counts Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean among their other country star friends.
“That’s what country music is all about — having that support, that brotherhood, that family kind of thing going on,” Brian explains. “We heard about that and when we got into the mix, it’s been nothing but that. It’s cool to get in touch with people through emails and just have that encouragement.”
Florida Georgia Line is on the road with Jason Aldean all year long.
Greenroom PRJason Aldean‘s Burn It Down tour is now underway, and he has more stadium dates booked for this summer than ever before. Getting to the point where he now headlines stadiums has been a long time coming for Jason.
“I never thought we would be a in a position to do that,” Jason admits. “Over the years, we kinda built it up in the right way. We went from clubs to theaters to arenas, amphitheaters. It’s kind of been a slow climb for us. But it’s been a steady thing.”
So, how does it feel to perform in front of 60,000 fans at one of those stadium shows?
Jason says, “To be on stage, look out and see a lot of people out there in a stadium is to me, one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.”
He doesn’t take this success for granted, either.
Says Jason, “Not everybody can go out and do that stuff. To be one of the acts that can, it’s a blessing. So, I’m very thankful for that.”
Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr are on the road with Jason for the entire Burn It Down tour. Miranda Lambert will come on board for the stadium shows. Go to Jason’s website for a full list of tour dates.
Capitol NashvilleLuke Bryan listened when his fans kept asking him to sing “Play It Again” over and over.
He says, “More than ever in my career have I let fan response on the road dictate a single than ”Play It Again.’ From the day we put Crash My Party out, it was getting downloaded more than really any other non-single.”
“Play It Again” even gets a bigger reaction than some of Luke’s #1 hits during his concerts. Judging from that response, Luke wanted the song to come out before his latest hit, “Drink a Beer,” but his record label intervened and got him to hold off on “Play It Again” at that time.
“Listening to my record label like, thankfully, I do sometimes, we went with ‘Drink a Beer,’” says Luke. “But ‘Play It Again’ is just is a big, fun song.”

Big Machine Label GroupThomas Rhett didn’t have to look very far for a mentor to help him write his first songs. His dad is ’90s country star-turned-hit-songwriter Rhett Akins.
Thomas tells the Erie Times-News, “Probably the first 20, 30 songs I wrote were with my dad. That was just a starting ground for me.”
Thomas went on to write with other songwriters in Nashville and had a hand in writing hits for Florida Georgia Line and Lee Brice. Even so, Thomas’ first #1 hit as an artist, “It Goes Like This,” was a co-write with his dad.
“To share my first number-one as an artist with my dad was one of the coolest things in the world,” Thomas says.
Of note, Thomas co-wrote his latest hit, “Get Me Some of That,” with rising country star Cole Swindell and guitarist Michael Carter.
