Trisha Yearwood Selling Nashville-Area Home for $2.2 Million

Sunshine SachsTrisha Yearwood‘s home in Brentwood, Tennessee — just south of Nashville — is on the market for $2.2 million.  As Trisha prepares to spend more time in Nashville with her husband, Garth Brooks, they’ll be living on his land north of town.

She tells The Tennessean, “It doesn’t make sense to have all of it.”

Trisha goes to on to say she hasn’t lived in the home consistently for a while, but she calls it a “safe haven” in Nashville.

“It’s a great house, and everybody that I know is like, ‘Oh, I love that house,’” Trisha says.  “And I’m like, ‘I know, but someone should be living in it all the time and enjoying it.’  So, it’s time to do it.”

The more than 6,500-square-foot home includes five bedrooms and six baths.

Toby Keith Surprised With Spirit of the USO Award in Las Vegas

Show Dog/UniversalToby Keith was surprised with the Spirit of the USO Award on Monday night in Las Vegas.  The presentation happened at the end of the taping for the upcoming TV special ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops.

According to The Tennessean, Toby just finished performing the final song of the night, “American Soldier,” when military personnel took the stage and made the announcement.  The honor recognizes Toby for playing more than 200 shows for more than 250,000 men and women in uniform and their families in the past decade.

Toby admits the award caught him off-guard.  He says, “I saw a need and a void the great Bob Hope left behind, and no one was filling it, but as hard as Big Dog Daddy tried, I couldn’t bring Marilyn Monroe.”

Toby will be featured in ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops, airing May 20 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.

Billy Currington Bounces Around with Brett Eldredge and Chase Rice

Mercury NashvilleWhile other artists may dread hitting the road for extended periods of time, Billy Currington confesses that touring suits his nomadic lifestyle just fine.

Yeah, [I’ve] been in Hawaii a little bit, Georgia, California, Key West, Florida. I’ve just been bouncing around,” he tells ABC News Radio. “Of course, now, I’m bouncing around wherever the tour goes, so that’s basically everywhere.”

And wherever his We Are Tonight tour takes Billy, his opening acts Brett Eldredge and Chase Rice are along for the ride.

“Those guys are so cool… They’re great guys to hang with, for one thing,” Billy says. “But they’re great openers for the crowd to get it ready for us to come out there. I mean, they amp everybody up so much. Of course, they come out during the show with us and make it special. I just couldn’t ask for better opening acts.”

Billy’s also been known to borrow from one of his heroes to keep the crowd on its toes.

Yeah, we do ‘Friends in Low Places,’” he laughs. “[I] love, love Garth Brooks, so we settled on that one, and it always goes over so good.”

This week, Billy and the boys stop in Kentucky and South Carolina, before heading to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for the Tortuga Music Festival on Saturday.

Chris Young Conquers Europe with Brad Paisley

RCA Nashville(NOTE LANGUAGE) Even though he’s toured with Brad Paisley since last summer, Chris Young says taking the Beat This Winter tour to Scandinavia last month was a particular thrill, both personally and as an artist.

“I had the best time while I was over there. Obviously, getting to go with Brad is great, ’cause from an artist’s perspective, if you go over to Europe for the first time, most of the time you’re gonna lose your a**,” he laughs. “ It’s expensive! You know, it’s hard to get flights over there and then hotel rooms and transportation and everything…You know, usually you just get on your bus and go wherever.”

While there, Chris says he was shocked to discover that even people in Norway recognize his hits.

“You know, being able to go with Brad, there’s that built-in fan base…the crowds were great to us,” he tells ABC News Radio. “There were so many people that actually knew songs. Even in, like, Oslo. In Oslo, Norway, opening for Brad Paisley, there were people that knew songs, which was amazing. We felt really welcome, and I honestly can’t wait to go back.”

And given the friendship the two have built, odds are he’ll get the opportunity.

“[Brad]‘s been absolutely amazing to me. That’s the longest anybody’s ever had me on their tour, starting last summer going through last week… I really got to pick his brain about music stuff,” Chris says.  “He was always really open, like if you ever got a question about anything… I’m real lucky I got a chance to get to know him.”

“I’ve always said I was a fan,” Chris adds. “But now I’m really, really a fan.”

Ronnie Dunn Bringing “Peace Love and Country Music” to the World

EB MediaRonnie Dunn brings Peace Love and Country Music to New York City on Wednesday, as he celebrates this week’s release of his new CD with a performance on ABC’s The View. He’ll perform “Country This,” one of the fourteen songs on his sophomore release as a solo artist.

The former Brooks & Dunn frontman says it was important to him that the fans be involved in creating the album. ”I put a few songs out on social media to see what people liked, or maybe what they didn’t respond to,” he adds, “and we built the album from there.”

Six of Ronnie’s own songs made the cut, including “Let’s Get the Beer Joint Rockin’,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “Country in Texas.” Physical copies of the CD are available only at
