Jason Aldean Says “Just Gettin’ Started” Makes a Great Addition to His Catalog of Uptempo Hits

Image Courtesy CMAJason Aldean‘s latest single, “Just Gettin’ Started,” will fit in nicely on his 2015 tour set list next to the other uptempo hits like “Dirt Road Anthem,” “When She Says Baby” and “Hicktown.” In fact, Jason says he’s built his career with those fun songs.

He tells ABC News Radio, “When you’re going into a tour, you want something that’s being played on the radio that’s fun and gets people excited about the shows and all that.”

Jason will be playing his own headlining tour in the new year. He’s also teaming up with Kenny Chesney for a few stadium dates, including a May 16 stop at AT&T Stadium in Texas. While Jason has a huge arsenal of hits, he’s a little nervous about putting his set list up against Kenny’s catalog of #1’s.

Says Jason, “He got a few years head start on me with hits. He’s got a lot more than I got. I gotta get me a couple more before that tour kicks off.”

For a complete list of Jason’s tour dates, go to JasonAldean.com. “Just Gettin’ Started” is included on Jason’s platinum-selling album, Old Boots, New Dirt.

Is Carrie Underwood Plotting a Collaboration with One Direction?

Image Courtesy Chris Hollo/Grand Ole OpryIs Carrie Underwood plotting a collaboration with pop superstars One Direction? The band is managed by Simon Cowell, who was a judge on American Idol when Carrie was crowned the winner in 2005.

Carrie tells U.K.’s Daily Mail, “If One Direction ever wants to go country, I’m here.”  She adds, “I think I should get on the phone to Simon.”

When asked if she would ever step into Simon’s shoes as a judge on a TV singing competition, Carrie says, “I feel like it would be really hard to be honest, and I do think a lot of judges lose face, because I think people really need to hear it like it is. I think I’d be too nice.”

Carrie’s country music career is keeping her very busy these days. Her first compilation, Greatest Hits: Decade #1, came out just last week featuring her latest hit, “Something in the Water.”

Brad Paisley Explains His Visual Approach to Songwriting

Image Courtesy Arista NashvilleBrad Paisley always thinks of the visuals his words will create in the listeners’ minds when he’s writing hit songs like his latest offering, “Perfect Storm.”

Brad says, “My idea of country music is always about the pictures it paints for you. I don’t like songs that don’t give me images in my mind.”

That approach can be found in rock and pop music as well, even if the meaning of the lyrics isn’t always clear. Brad points to The Eagles‘ classic “Hotel California” as an example.

“I don’t know totally what that’s about, but you know, ‘On a dark desert highway,’ you know, it’s just…you see everything they’re sayin’,” Brad explains.

“Perfect Storm” is the latest single from Brad’s current album, Moonshine in the Trunk, available now.
