Carrie Underwood Celebrates 10 Years of Hits with New Compilation Out Today

Image Courtesy Arista NashvilleCarrie Underwood’s two-disc compilation, Greatest Hits: Decade #1, now available featuring her latest hit, “Something in the Water,” and another new song, “Little Toy Guns.” The release celebrates the approaching 10th anniversary of Carrie launching her career on American Idol back in 2005. Since then, she’s scored multiple #1 hits, including “Jesus, Take the Wheel,” “Cowboy Casanova,” “Before He Cheats” and “Blown Away.” Carrie wasn’t sure she was ready to put out a best-of compilation when her record label first approached her, though.

“I was the first one to be like, ‘I mean, I’ve only been doing this 10 years,’  but it’s been 10 years,” Carrie says. “If we waited much longer, we’d be out of two discs, hopefully!”

Looking over the track listing, Carrie adds, “It’s really cool to kinda see my career, and well, my life over the past 10 years kinda chronicled in that way.”

Carrie’s Greatest Hits also includes the rough demo versions of some of her biggest hits, and she’s excited to let fans hear how these hits, like “Last Name,” sounded before they got polished in the studio.

Carrie explains with a laugh, “We don’t sound great on them at all, which I think is really special. It’s basically the first time that we ever played through or tried to sing the song. I mean, I screw up all over the place.”

Putting out a Greatest Hits album gives Carrie a chance to put out new songs while preparing for the birth of her baby boy in 2015. So far in her career, Carrie has mostly sung about little girls whenever she’s referenced children in her songs.

“I kind of feel bad that I don’t have any songs about, like, boys,” Carrie says. “All my stuff is, like, ‘All-American Girl’ and ‘Mama’s Song.’ Again, it’s like, ‘When I watch my baby grow up, I’ll only want what’s best for her.’  Poor little boy baby Fisher is kind of getting the shaft on this one.”

During an appearance Monday on NBC’s Tonight Show to plug her album, Carrie told host Jimmy Fallon that her husband, pro hockey player Mike Fisher loves to sing while he’s at home, but doesn’t know the words to many songs, including hers.

Look for Carrie to appear on CBS’s The Talk on Wednesday. She’ll also stop by Rachael Ray on Friday to talk about the new album and her fitness lifestyle line, CALIA by Carrie Underwood.

Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott Not Giving Up Her Website to Porn Star with the Same Name

Image Courtesy Capitol NashvileLady Antebellum‘s Hillary Scott isn’t the only woman in the entertainment business with that name. It turns out there’s a porn star named Hillary Scott, and the Lady A singer found out about it though the porn star’s manager.

The country singer tells The Las Vegas Sun, “Her representation and management have contacted me about the domain name, which is mine and redirects you to Lady Antebellum. Her manager/representation, they wanted the domain name. You have to draw the line somewhere.”

The situation makes Hillary glad she’s part of a band and not a solo artist in the country format. “I’m embarrassed, too, when you Google my name because you don’t have to go too far to find her,” Hillary adds. “Tell people, ‘Don’t Google my name; Google Lady Antebellum!'”

Look for Lady Antebellum to announce a brand-new tour at the beginning of 2015.

Miranda Lambert Opens Up on Marriage, Weight Loss in “Marie Claire”; Reacts to Grammy Nominations

Image Courtesy Boe Marion/Marie ClaireMiranda Lambert graces the cover of Marie Claire’s January issue, and she opens up about a lot — including her marriage to Blake Shelton — in the cover story. His sunny disposition balances her darker personality.

Miranda says, “I’m not sunshine and roses. Blake’s the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness … Literally, everything is the best about being married.”

Miranda has learned to lighten up in the last few years when it comes to the details of her career. “I’m always anxious,” Miranda admits.  “I will worry myself into oblivion. I was trying to make everything regimented, and it caused too much stress. I learned everything doesn’t have to be perfect.”

She also opens up about her 20-pound weight loss, saying she feels better being onstage when she’s not jiggling everywhere. Still, Miranda did appreciate paparazzi circulating a picture of her in a bikini on the beach in Hawaii a few weeks back.

She explains, “I’m just like anybody else, insecure and scared of looking bad or being criticized. But everybody’s making this big, giant thing about it. It’s way too much focus on women’s bikini photos, and I hate it. Why do we care? I want women to love themselves whatever they’ve got going on.”

Read more with Miranda when her Marie Claire issue hits stands December 16.

The Miranda cover story comes on the heels of her four Grammy nominations, which were announced Friday. She’s up for Best Country Album for Platinum, Best Country Performance and Best Country Song for “Automatic,” and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Somethin’ Bad,” with Carrie Underwood.

Miranda says, “Getting recognized by the music industry as a whole is so humbling and much appreciated by not only me, but the amazing team of people that make my world turn.”  She adds, “Congrats to all my fellow musicians and artists who are nominated. See y’all at the Grammys!!!”

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will broadcast live on CBS February 8.
