Taylor Swift Being Wooed to Write New Musical

Bret Hartman/CBSTaylor Swift received a Golden Globe nomination for “Sweeter than Fiction,” a song she wrote for the movie One Chance.  Now, the same movie mogul who got her involved in that project is hoping she’ll write an entire musical for him.

According to the New York Daily News, Taylor was in attendance this week at a New York City workshop for a new musical called Finding Neverland, based on the Johnny Depp movie of the same name.  Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, who produced Finding Neverland, is also the one who tapped Taylor for the One Chance project, and reportedly, he’s the one who gave her the part in the upcoming film The Giver.  Now, he tells the News that he’s trying to convince Taylor to work with him on a new project.

“There’s a specific show I want her to write,” Weinstein told the paper.

Considering that Taylor is hard at work on the follow-up to her album Red, and has a string of tour dates scheduled in June for Asia, it’s not clear when she’d have time to tackle such a project.

Kip Moore Knows ACM New Artist of the Year Win Is Out of His Control

MCA NashvilleKip Moore‘s ACM nomination for New Artist of the Year means even more to him since that category is decided by the fans. They’re the ones who have been supporting him and his band and crew for years on the road.

“The band and the crew, we’re a family,” Kip tells ABC News Radio. “It’s always about those guys for me, too. It’s my name, but we’ve been through such a grind together for so long and we built a grassroots following years ago, long before ‘Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck’ popped, and it showed with them coming through and voting.”

While Kip would certainly welcome a win at Sunday night’s ACM Awards, the outcome of the New Artist of the Year category won’t affect the way he runs his business.

He says, “I don’t focus too much on awards ’cause it’s out of my control, but it’s validation that this journey and this fight that we’ve been in together wasn’t all in vain. We’re finally getting the recognition of what we’ve been doing.”

Kip is nominated for ACM New Artist of the Year along with Justin Moore and Brett Eldredge. Voting is now open at All three New Artist nominees will perform on the 49th Annual ACM Awards this Sunday night at 8 ET on CBS.

Thompson Square Proudly Displays ACM Awards at Their Alabama Home

Stoney Creek Records When Thompson Square isn’t on the road or in the studio, they’re spending time at their house down in Alabama. The home has the perfect shelf for Keifer and Shawna Thompson to display their two ACM top Vocal Duo trophies, too.

Shawna tells ABC News Radio,  “We bought the house and they were there, and we’re like, ‘Yes, this is perfect. We can put our awards up there.’ They have cool little lights that shine down on ‘em.”

Since they live away from Nashville, people who come in to work on their house are often starstruck when they see Thompson Square’s trophies or gold and platinum plaques on the wall.

“It’s weird because we’ve had a couple of ‘em that’s like, ‘Man, I thought that was you,’” Keifer says. “To be recognized down there is really strange.”

Thompson Square could win their third consecutive Top Vocal Duo of the Year trophy at Sunday night’s ACM Awards. The show airs at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
