Chris Young to Be Honored at YoungArts Foundation’s Backyard Ball in January

Image Courtesy Monarch PublicityChris Young will be honored along with Josh Groban as the 2015 Alumni Honorees at the National YoungArts Foundation’s Backyard Ball January 10 in Miami. The YoungArts program recognizes outstanding young artists in the literary, visual, design and performing arts. Chris was a 2003 YoungArts Winner and was also singled out as a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts when he was a high school senior.

Visual artist Jeff Koons will also be honored at the Backyard Ball. Previous honorees at this fundraiser include Scandal‘s Kerry Washington, Robert Redford, and Girls star Andrew Rannells. For more information, go to

Brooks & Dunn Reunite for Las Vegas Residency with Reba Starting June 24 at Caesars Palace

Reba and Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas will launch June 24, 2015 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Tickets for select shows go on sale Thursday at or Go to for more information. Brooks & Dunn has not performed together since wrapping up their farewell tour in 2010.

The idea to revive their co-headlining show came up at dinner in Nashville. Reba, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn still hang out regularly despite rumors that Kix and Ronnie don’t get along. Kix shot that talk down at a press conference at Caesars Palace Wednesday.

“We’ve been having dinners and going on vacation together, which is pretty amazing, you know, considering as much as Ronnie and I hate each other and don’t get along,” Kix said with a laugh. Reuniting with Reba seems like a natural way for Brooks & Dunn to come back together, too.

Says Kix, “We love hanging out and we love playing music. Let’s do it somewhere besides the campfire where some folks will show up and hear us again. So, we’re really looking forward to it.”

Here are the confirmed 2015 dates for Reba and Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas: 6/24, 6/26, 6/27, 7/1, 7/3, 7/4, 12/2, 12/4, 12/6, 12/9, 12/11, and 12/12.

Garth Brooks Playing Pittsburgh February 5 and 7, 2015

Carrie Underwood Launching Women’s Fitness Lifestyle Clothing Line, CALIA, in March 2015

The idea grew from Carrie’s own need for clothes that work in the gym and also look great while running errands or grabbing lunch with a friend.

Carrie is proud to offer this new line of clothing allowing women to look great while pursuing an active lifestyle.  “I think we’ve really bridged the gap, and we have things that are just really well-made and great pieces that women will feel good about wearing,” she says.  “I paid special attention to what women want and what they need.”

Carrie has been very impressed with the designers at Dick’s Sporting Goods, too.  “We’ve basically just had this big team, team of people — mainly ladies, very strong, awesome women — working on this fitness/lifestyle brand,” she says. “It’s something that I think people are gonna be really excited about. I know I’m excited about it.”

Florida Georgia Line Added to “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” Lineup

The show airs December 31 at 8 p.m. Eastern time on ABC, with Taylor Swift, Idina Menzel, One Direction and Meghan Trainor also on the bill.

Darius Rucker Shares the Spotlight with His Dog, Shula, on New Christmas Album, “Home for the Holidays”

Image Courtesy Capitol NashvilleFans who pick up Darius Rucker‘s new Christmas album, Home for the Holidays, will notice an adorable little white dog sitting next to Darius on the back cover photo. It turns out that’s Darius’s four-year-old pup, Shula, who was just hanging out at the house when Darius did the quick photo shoot for the new album.

“We’re on the back porch and we’re taking pictures, and Shula just comes up and stands next to me,” Darius explains. “My wife was like, ‘Shula! Come here!’ [The dog] looked at her like, ‘I’m gonna be in this picture.’ She just sat there, so we took it.”

Darius ended up loving that photograph with Shula, who he describes an “awesome dog.”

Says Darius, “She’s one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever dealt with in my life. She’s just so smart. But yeah, she’s a great dog.”

Look for Darius to sing “White Christmas” on NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center Wednesday night at 8 ET. Trisha Yearwood and LeAnn Rimes are also on the bill.

Jason, Luke, Miranda, Florida Georgia Line and Keith Urban Honored as “CMT Artists of the Year”

Image Courtesy CMTJason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line and Keith Urban were honored Tuesday night as CMT Artists of the Year in a televised special broadcast live from Nashville.

Jason Aldean kicked off the CMT Artists of the Year 2014 special, singing his brand-new single, “Just Gettin’ Started,” with a little help from rocker Chris Cornell of Soundgarden on guitar and background vocals. Kenny Chesney was on hand to present his pal Jason with his Artist of the Year trophy.

During his speech, Jason sent out his thoughts and prayers to fellow Artist of the Year honoree Luke Bryan, who was unable to attend the event due to the death of his brother-in-law. Lady Antebellum stepped in to perform an acoustic version of Luke’s hit, “Drink a Beer,” with the songwriter, Chris Stapleton.

Luke tweeted after their performance, “That was amazing. Truly. Thank you Charles, Dave, Hillary and Chris! Beautiful!!! Thank you fans for your love.”

Miranda Lambert sang “Holding on to You” from her latest album, Platinum, and she even had Nicole Kidman singing along in the audience. Miranda’s friends, Ashley Monroe and NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, were on hand to pay tribute to Miranda.

Florida Georgia Line delivered their latest hit, “Sun Daze,” before accepting their Artist of the Year trophy from hip-hop star Wiz Khalifa.

Keith Urban performed James Brown‘s R&B classic “It’s Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” backed up by an all-female band. Chris Cornell returned to the stage to present Keith with his trophy.


The evening closed out with Eric Church, Ashley Monroe and T-Bone Burnett performing “Workin’ Man Blues” in musical tribute to the first-ever CMT Artist of a Lifetime recipient, Merle Haggard.
