Trisha Yearwood to Release 12th Studio Album, “PrizeFighter”; New Cookbook Coming Next Spring

Image Courtesy Mark Peterson/Food Network MagazineTrisha Yearwood has been one very busy woman lately. As she gears up to hit the road with hubby Garth Brooks on September 4, Trisha is also completing work on her new album, PrizeFighter. The project will be her first for RCA Nashville, which is also Garth’s new label home. Trisha performed two songs from the album, “Your Husband’s Cheating on Us” and “I Remember You,” at an industry event to celebrate the new music Tuesday in Nashville.

Describing the title track to PrizeFighter, Trisha says, “It’s a song on the album that is about beating the odds and winning and fighting no matter what. I think it’s a message we all need to hear.”

Trisha didn’t announce a release date for PrizeFighter at Tuesday’s event. The announcement of new music comes more than two decades after Trisha first hit the country scene with “She’s in Love with the Boy.” Back when she signed her first record deal at age 26, Trisha compared her singing career to that of a pro baseball player.

“I thought, you know, these guys come out and they have their time and they have a few good years, and they have to know when they can’t swing the bat anymore,” Trisha says. “It’s been 23 years since that first single, and I’m just not ready to stop swinging the bat.”

In addition to the new music, Trisha is also kicking off the fifth season of her Emmy-winning Food Network show Trisha’s Southern Kitchen this Saturday. She’ll release a third cookbook, titled Trisha’s Table, in April 2015, and Trisha’s own line of Precious Metals cookware and a cutlery line will launch in the coming months, too.

Dustin Lynch Savors the Summertime Success of His Latest Hit, “Where It’s At”

Image Courtesy Broken Bow RecordsDustin Lynch‘s live show has gotten a big shot in the arm from his feel-good hit, “Where It’s At.” He’s never had a fun hit song like this during the summertime.

Dustin tells ABC News Radio, “The crowds we have coming out are exploding. You know, the energy they’re bringing to our shows are the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m having so much fun making music right now.”

“Where It’s At” is the lead single and title cut from Dustin’s upcoming studio album. He’s been playing random pop-up shows across the country to share the new music with fans. Fans have to pay attention to Dustin’s social media accounts to find out where these events take place.

He says, “It’s a fun kind of deal ’cause we leak where we’re at last minute. You know, we’ll have however many people show up last minute. And the energy’s great. It can be from anywhere — we’ve had 12 people show up to 200-something.”

Most of these Find Where It’s At pop-up shows are scheduled on days Dustin would have off in between shows. He doesn’t mind giving up that downtime to hang out with his fans, though.

Dustin says, “It’s fun to do. It beats sitting in a Walmart parking lot with the band dudes.”

Dustin’s new album, Where It’s At, comes out September 9.

Alan Jackson’s ’55 Ford Thunderbird Going on Limited Display at Country Music Hall of Fame

Image Courtesy Kristy Belcher/Schmidt RelationsNo Alan Jackson retrospective would be complete without including one of his vintage cars, and the new Alan Jackson exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville features his most precious set of wheels — the 1955 Ford Thunderbird he bought at age 15. Alan and his father, Gene, restored the car, but Alan had to sell it to get the down payment for his first home. Years later, Alan’s wife, Denise, tracked down that exact T-Bird and gave it to Alan for Christmas. The car appeared in his 2008 video “Good Time.”

Alan’s 25 Years of Keepin’ It Country opens August 29, and the T-Bird will only be on display for the opening weekend.  Alan also is performing at the Country Music Hall of Fame October 8 and 22. Go to CountryMusicHallofFame.org for ticket information.

Chase Rice Turns the Energy Way Up on Debut Album, “Ignite the Night”

Image Courtesy Dack Janiels/SonyChase Rice‘s debut album, Ignite the Night, is out Tuesday featuring the lead single, “Ready Set Roll.” As indicated by that album title, the music on this album is designed to get fans on their feet at his concerts.

Chase tells ABC News Radio, “It was just the perfect three words to describe the album, Ignite the Night. Party, fun, explosions, whatever you wanna call it, which, hopefully this album will explode into something cool.”

While Chase describes some of the songs on the new album as “Ready Set Roll” on steroids, there are a few songs that show off Chase’s introspective side.

“People want to get to know me,” Chase says. “I think they’ve seen the party side, and they know that side, but they can expect to see a whole different side of me on this album as well with the ‘Carolina Cans’ and ‘Jack Daniels and Jesus.’ And just a couple more meaningful songs.”

Chase is taking his new music on the road for the rest of the year. Go to ChaseRice.com to see where he’s playing next.
