Jason Aldean Pulls Latest Album From Spotify

Image Courtesy Broken Bow RecordsSounds like Taylor Swift has started an anti-Spotify movement.

According to Rolling Stone, Jason Aldean has followed in the “Shake It Off” singer’s footsteps and pulled his latest album from Spotify.

The country singer decided Monday to remove Old Boots, New Dirt from the streaming music site. On Spotify, a note was added where the tracks were previously listed. “The artist or their representatives have decided not to release this album on Spotify,” the message read. “We are working on it and hope they will change their mind soon.”

Aldean’s decision comes on the heels of Swift’s choice to pull all of her songs from Spotify. She explained, “I’m not willing to contribute my life’s work to an experiment that I don’t feel fairly compensates the writers, producers, artists and creators of this music. And I just don’t agree with perpetuating the perception that music has no value and should be free.”

Aldean has not yet addressed why he decided to pull his album from the site.

Garth Brooks’ First Studio Album in 13 Years, “Man Against Machine,” Out Now

Image Courtesy Sony/Pearl RecordsGarth Brooks‘ first, brand-new studio album in 13 years is out now. Man Against Machine finds Garth revisiting some familiar musical territory for his longtime fans.

“It’s a Garth record, which means we have everything,” he says. “We have everything from cowboy songs, we have everything to waltzes to things that people have never heard in country music before. That’s kind of what we do. We just follow our hearts.”

While Garth didn’t write many of the songs on Man Against Machine, he thinks this material holds up to his classic material.

Says Garth, “These are songs that are comin’ that have some pretty hellacious substance in it.”

Garth enlisted a few new studio musicians to work on Man Against Machine, but most of the players on this project have performed on every Garth record since his 1989 debut.

He says, “Walkin’ in the studio and seein’ those guys that I hadn’t seen in years, that were my brothers that I just loved to death that we made all the early records with, was a wonderful feeling. And I think that translates into the music and onto the record.”

Man Against Machine is available at all physical retailers and online at Ghostunes.com.

Here’s the Man Against Machine track listing:

“Man Against Machine”
“She’s Tired of Boys”
“Cold Like That”
“All-American Kid”
“Mom”
“Wrong About You”
“Rodeo and Juliet”
“Midnight Train”
“Cowboys Forever”
“People Loving People”
“Send ‘Em on Down the Road”
“Fish”
“You Wreck Me”
“Tacoma”

He says, “We’ll get to shake hands and take a picture with pretty much everybody, and that’ll be incredible. But I think we got a little place we can slip off to and kind of hideaway if we need to, but we’ll be getting some sun, playing some music.”

Brian’s singing partner, Tyler Hubbard, looks forward to playing one game in particular.

“Well, I heard they got a bowling alley on this boat, so that’ll be fun. Maybe place some bets on a game of bowling. We’ll see.”
