Capitol NashvilleCharles Kelley watches the sun come up in Nashville, catching the dawn from the jump seat of his tour bus, in the new music video for “The Driver.” The clip for his first solo single was shot last month in Music City, with Dierks Bentley and Eric Paslay joining him to perform the song on the stage of historic War Memorial Auditorium.

Appropriately, you catch several glimpses of Charles’ bus driver as the video starts. ”It takes a whole circus of people on the road to get from city to city each night,” he says. “This song pretty much sums up the last eight years of my life in four minutes, so I wanted the video to include some of the people behind-the-scenes who help us live this crazy dream before the show starts.” In other shots, Charles, Dierks and Eric smoke cigars, share a drink and play poker, while the only audience for their performance is an elderly janitor who’s busy doing his work.

The first solo album from the Lady Antebellum singer is expected in the new year. Charles sets out on his first solo tour November 28 in Cleveland, Ohio.
