Image Courtesy Sony Music NashvilleChris Young had to undergo a few surgeries on his left hand after severing tendons in a kitchen knife accident earlier this month. Though some reports made it sound like he was cooking a big late-night dinner at the time of the accident, Chris tells The Topeka Capital-Journal, “I was cutting a piece of fruit. It wasn’t like I was cooking anything.”

Chris is now undergoing physical therapy to regain the use of his left hand, and he hopes to be playing guitar again in about six weeks. In the meantime, Chris is performing just fine without his instrument.

He says, “I’m really known as a singer first. I can still entertain and move around, and I’ve worked out a few things that I don’t normally do on my shows.”
