Chris Young will return to the concert stage Thursday night after nearly losing his life last week. Chris was headed to a concert date in Montana on Thursday, August 13 when he began to go into septic shock due to a dangerous bacterial infection resulting from a small cut on his leg. Chris was taken by ambulance to Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver where doctors immediately started him on medications to stop the infection from spreading. That night, Chris underwent emergency surgery just after midnight to remove the infection from his leg.
Chris is now at home and expected to make a full recovery. He says, "I want to thank all of my fans for their thoughts and prayers."
Chris goes on to thank his doctors -- Dr. Anthony Canfield, Dr. Wendy Gill and Dr. Janet Suarez -- as well as his I.C.U. nurses for literally saving his life.
Doctors wanted Chris to wait a full week after surgery before getting back on stage, so he'll return to Brad Paisley's Beat This Summer tour Thursday night in Mountain View, CA.
