The Kansas Supreme Court has affirmed a man’s conviction in the 2014 beating death of a K-State alum, according to reports from the Associated Press and Wichita Eagle.

Antwan Banks was found guilty by jury for the first-degree murder of 25-year-old Daniel Flores in April 2015. Flores’ body was found in the basement of Steckline Communications in Wichita, where he worked at radio station KSGO.

Prosecutors at the trial alleged Banks killed Flores in a fit of rage after he came across Banks scrawling hate-filled messages about Banks’ former girlfriend, a Steckline office manager, on hallway walls. Banks, prosecutors said, was upset over their recent breakup and wanted to humiliate his ex-girlfriend in front of co-workers

The court on Friday rejected arguments from Antwon Banks that prosecutors presented circumstantial evidence in his trial. The justices ruled the state had enough evidence to find Banks guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
