Natasha Moustache/CMAThis week, Darius Rucker plays his last shows of the year, bringing the Southern Style Tour with David Nail and A Thousand Horses to a close for 2015. Given that first-time dad David is expecting twins any time, we wondered if Darius is nervous he might miss some dates.

“David’s gonna be good! He’s a good friend of mine,” Darius says, going on to say he may’ve given David a little parenting advice, since he is a father of three himself. “We have talked about kids a little bit. I’m excited for him. He’s such a good guy. He’s got a heart of gold and we’re having a great time.”

As much as he enjoys watching football over the Thanksgiving holiday, Darius admits he’ll still miss playing for the crowds and the good times he’s had with David, A Thousand Horses and Brett Eldredge, who was on the first dates.

“It’s been a great tour. You know even having Brett out most of the year, and we had a blast. We did some good numbers. It’s hard for me to quit touring, I love to play so much. But we’ll take some time off. I’m sure we’ll start back up again next year,” he promises.

Thursday, Darius and his pals play Grand Rapids, Michigan, before wrapping up Friday in Toledo, Ohio.

You can see Darius, David and Brett on the upcoming CMA Country Christmas special on ABC. Darius sings “Winter Wonderland” and “What God Wants for Christmas,” while David does the Donny Hathaway soul classic “This Christmas.” Brett duets with Thomas Rhett on “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” The show airs December 3 at 9 p.m. ET.
