1945

George and Barbara Bush said “I do.”

Happy 70 years to those crazy kids!

1994

Nancy Kerrigan was whacked on her right leg at the National Figure Skating Championships in Detroit by a man wielding an iron bar.

The assailant was later linked to Kerrigan’s skatingrival, Tonya Harding.

Kerrigan got the last laugh, though. She won the silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics, while Harding finished eighth.

 1998

Trisha Yearwood and LeAnn Rimes were each nominated for Grammys in the Best Country Female Vocal Performance category for How Do I Live.

It was the first time in Grammy history two versions of the same song competed against each other.

Trisha went on to win it.

and then lastly…

2001
