ABC/Image Group LADierks Bentley made a name for himself playing the bars on Nashville’s famed Lower Broadway, and now the country superstar is opening one himself. On Thursday, the Whiskey Row management company signed the papers to buy the four-story building at the corner of Fourth and Broadway that will become Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row.
The “Drunk on a Plane” hitmaker even gets a little sentimental when he thinks about opening the latest location of his franchise.
“Lower Broadway’s honky-tonks are the stomping grounds of countless artists past to present chasing this crazy dream of playing music,” he reflects. “It’s home of the bars where I cut my teeth night after night, usually running up a beer tab bigger than the tips I made covered. It’s pretty full-circle to think that we’re getting the chance to open one of my bars, backing right up to the Ryman Auditorium, where other artists will look back on as the place they got their start too.”
Slated to open in early 2017, the restaurant and bar will feature more than 50 kinds of beer, three stages for live music and a rooftop deck. Renovations on the building are set to start in the coming weeks.
This will be the third location for Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row. The other two are in his home state of Arizona.
