Photo Credit: Art StreiberEven though Don Henley’s first country CD Cass County blocked George Strait from a number-one debut on Billboard’s country albums chart, Strait’s new album Cold Beer Conversation ascends to the top spot this week. Strait’s 29th studio album becomes the 26th to climb to the top of charts, selling more than 112,000 copies since its September 25 release, even though it’s available only at Walmart and Apple Music.
Right now, promoters are busy adding dates to Strait’s upcoming stint at the Las Vegas Arena, after the initial six-show series sold old. Kacey Musgraves will open the concerts that kick off in April of next year. There’s no word yet on when the new dates will be announced.
