Girl throws first LLWS shutout

Little League is celebrating it’s 75th anniversary this year, and the best baseball teams from Little League’s all over the world have once again descended on Williamsport, PA for the annual Little League World Series.  And history has been made!

For the first time, a young girl…13 year old pitcher Mo’ne Davis…threw a complete game shutout in tournament play.  Playing for the team from Philadelphia, and representing the Mid-Atlantic region, she pitched all six innings and gave up only two hits.

And before you think she’s a fluke…she also threw a complete game shutout in the Regional Championship.  Her performance has even caught the attention of some Major Leaguers.

Mo’ne is just the 4th American girl to participate in the Little League World Series.  Her team resumes play in the tournament on Monday.
