Warner Music Nashvillearly Tuesday evening, Dan+Shay performed on the ACM Honors at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. But before the show, Shay Mooney’s thoughts were already drifting to the after-party.
“Are you talking about performing, or as far as like later tonight?” he joked, when asked what the evening held in store.
On the special, which airs September 9 on CBS, Dan+Shay sing with their fall tour partner.
“We’re gonna get to do a Statler Brothers song and honor them — ‘Flowers on the Wall,’” Shay revealed. “So that’s gonna be an amazing moment with Chris Young.”
But back to hitting the honky tonks.
“Yeah, later tonight is — we’ve got a few days off, so we’ll see how it goes. We’re right here close to Broadway, so… We never get to go downtown, you never know what’s gonna happen!” he teased.
Shay and his musical partner Dan Smyers have plenty to celebrate. They just scored their second number one with “From the Ground Up,” and Shay recently got engaged to his girlfriend Hannah Billingsley.
