Broken BowAs Jason Aldean is riding high with his latest single, “Lights Come On,” at number one, the ACM Entertainer of the Year is getting ready to release his seventh studio album, They Don’t Know.

“This album kinda reminds me a lot of a combination of the — as much as I hate to compare, especially to the My Kinda Party album — it kinda reminds me a little bit of that and the Wide Open record,” he says. “So it’s a little bit of a combination of the two. I think on the last couple albums, we had really a tough time finding big tempos, like my kind of tempos that I like. And we ended up having some on there, but they weren’t the ‘She’s Country’s’ and the ‘My Kinda Party’ type things that I really like. It was just hard to find ’em. I think on this record it gets a little bit more back to that stuff.”

But the leader of the Six String Circus Tour says that’s not all.

“Then we kinda flip the script and there’s some really country stuff on there too. And then, always a little bit more drum loop, pop kinda things on there. It’s a little bit of a mashup like always, you know.”

They Don’t Know comes out September 9.
