ABC/Image Group LAWhile Jason Aldean has been nominated and won quite a few trophies at the CMAs and ACMs, he says being in the running for an American Music Award is a different experience entirely, because it puts you in the room with entertainers from all different kinds of music.
“It’s a cool deal. You got that many artists from all different genres. I mean it’s the biggest artists in the world in one room, basically. I mean that and the Grammys is about the only time that that ever happens. So it’s a cool thing to be a part of for sure, and to be nominated for those things, it doesn’t happen every year. So when you do get a nomination it’s pretty special.”
This year, Jason is up for both Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Album in the country categories. He says a win for Old Boots, New Dirt would be particularly special, since it would feel like a win for his whole team.
“Album to me is something that a lot of the people that I work with, I mean from [Michael] Knox who was the guy that brought me to town, my producer, you know, he’s the reason that I’m here. You know, when you win an album of the year it’s guys like that, my band that plays on everything, my record company, management, everybody that’s involved in the making of an album, it’s sort of a group win for everybody,” he says.
