CMALife may very well imitate art on this year’s CMA Awards, as John Mellencamp takes the stage to perform with Keith Urban. Even though what the two will sing hasn’t been confirmed, the pairing is natural, since Keith recently topped the charts with “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16,” a hit that namechecks his hero.

Over the past few years, the CMA Awards have become known for its collaborations, and particularly for pairing artists from other genres with country’s biggest hitmakers. This year, rockers Fall Out Boy will join Thomas Rhett, while Eric Church will duet with Hank Williams, Jr.

The 49th Annual CMA Awards air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Wednesday, November 4 at 8 p.m. ET.
