MCA NashvilleJosh Turner is one of the artists singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” Saturday as part of the Smithsonian National Museum of American History’s celebration of the song’s 200th anniversary. Josh has recorded a special video version of the national anthem that will be posted to AnthemforAmerica.SI.edu Saturday as part of a live Flag Day event in Washington, D.C.

Speaking of the anthem, Josh says, “It was inspired by an actual event where our country was attacked, prevailed and our flag was still waving in the aftermath. It outlines what our flag stands for and why that’s so important. It is always an honor to sing it.”

Train, Phish and Patty Griffin are among the other acts performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” this Saturday.
