ABC/Fred LeeKanye West is on track to become the first artist ever to have a number one album solely on the strength of the number of people streaming it. There’s only one thing standing in his way — and his name is Chris Stapleton.

Initially released back in February only on streaming service Tidal, the rapper’s The Life of Pablo expanded to Spotify and Apple Music last week. At the same time, Stapleton’s CMA-and-Grammy-grabbing Traveller continued its winning streak Sunday on the ACMs, while also getting some major TV exposure. If Chris’s past post-awards show sales are any indication, he’s likely in for a sizable bump.

Kanye’s streams total around 90 million, according to music news site NME.com. That’s the equivalent of selling 60,000 albums, a number the “Nobody to Blame” hitmaker already has locked up. We’ll find out who officially ends up on top when the final numbers are released in the coming days.
