ABC/Image Group LAAfter tonight, Kelsea Ballerini will be able to mark one more item off her bucket list, as the “Yeah Boy” hitmaker brings her first headlining tour to her hometown.

“I haven’t played Knoxville yet, and that’s on purpose,” she confesses, “because A) I know I’m going to cry and I try to prolong that as much as I can. And I wanted to wait until I could sell out this place called the Tennessee Theater, because I grew up going to see, like, Little Big Town and Zac Brown Band and all of them in that theater.”

Kelsea’s connection to the historic venue doesn’t end there.

“My dad actually had an apartment above it,” she reveals, “and sometimes I could sneak down into the theater and I would write songs and stuff on the stage. So it’s a really special place for me, so whenever we decided to do a headlining tour, I was like, ‘OK, let’s try to do it!’ And we sold it out in a couple weeks. I’m so excited!”

Kelsea continues on The First Time Tour through December 14, when she wraps up at the House of Blues in Houston.
