Blue Chair Records/Columbia NashvilleKenny Chesney prepared fans for the arrival of his new single “Noise” on Thursday afternoon, taking Facebook viewers backstage where he’s getting ready for this summer’s Spread the Love stadium tour. More than 11,000 people watched the 10-minute video chat, as Kenny talked about his eagerness to get back on the road this year, with a renewed focus on the simplicity of the music.

Remarking that “new music brings new energy,” he previewed the lead single from his as-yet-untitled new album that’s due sometime this summer, revealing he was originally going to release another song. In fact, Kenny was on the way to the marketing meeting to talk about that single when he wrote “Noise.”

Calling the new collection the “most authentic songs” he’s ever been a part of, he went on to recall how he’d turn the sound up when he was mixing his first record. He says now he’s more likely to turn the speakers down, so he can really listen to the music.

Describing “Noise” as “socially relevant,” Kenny talked about how most of us are overstimulated and bombarded by information, remarking on the current U.S. Presidential race in particular. Moments after the video chat ended, “Noise” arrived in the inboxes of radio stations everywhere.
