Piper Ferguson/Webster PRKenny Rogers knows when to fold ’em.  Today on NBC’s Today show, he announced that after his upcoming world tour, he’ll retire from the road.

Kenny’s world tour will start in 2016, but details have yet to be revealed.  “I’ve done this long enough,” says the 77-year-old singer. “Sometimes there’s a fine line between being driven and being selfish, and I think I crossed that line when I was younger.”

“I really want to be there with my kids and my wife. I don’t see enough of them. And I have some things on my bucket list,” Rogers adds.

Meanwhile, the country veteran has just released his first new Christmas album in seventeen years: it’s called Once Again Its Christmas. It’s the sixth holiday album of his career, and features collaborations with Alison Krauss, Jennifer Nettles and the band Home Free.  He’ll kick off his annual Christmas tour on November 11; it wraps December 23.
