Capitol NashvilleLady Antebellum may’ve been on a break for most of this year, but it’s quickly coming to an end, as the trio prepares to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the Kentucky Derby May 7 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

“It’s one of those songs that holds so much meaning and has already been performed by the best singers in history, so there’s a lot of pressure,” Dave Haywood tells USA Today, going on to explain what his version of the national anthem with Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley may sound like. “We will definitely put our own Lady A spin on it. Being part of a trio gives us a lot of room to play around with harmonies, which is one of the things we are really drawn to when we perform.”

You can tune in for the performance just after 5 p.m. ET on May 7, as the 142nd Kentucky Derby is broadcast on NBC. Later in the month, it’s back to work for the threesome, as Lady A kicks off its summer tour May 27 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
