Lady Antebellum got used to playing big arenas on their Own the Night tour, and the energy of the fans at those shows translated into a very lively feel for their new album, Golden, due out next week.
The group's Charles Kelley tells ABC News Radio, "The obvious thing would be just wanting more of those driving tempo songs for the live show. Our last couple records were so, kind of, I guess ballad-leaning and really drama-leaning, and so this one was, a lot of those songs are kind of breezy."
Charles points out "Generation Away," "Get to Me" and "Long Teenage Goodbye" as songs that really lighten the mood of the entire album. Their latest #1 hit, "Downtown," fits that bill too.
Says Charles, "They do have that breezy, summery quality. Just kind of like driving, '70s music, which is what we grew up kind of lovin'."
Golden also features Lady Antebellum's upcoming single, "Goodbye Town."
