Photo Credit: Joseph LlanesLuke Bryan is teaming up with Dierks Bentley to co-host the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards, which will air on CBS April 3, live from Las Vegas. Luke’s an old hand at this hosting stuff — this will be his fourth time — but it’ll mark Dierks’ debut as a host of any televised live event.
In a statement, Luke said, “When we found ourselves searching for a new co-host, I didn’t have to look much further than my own circle of friends, so Dierks was a natural choice. We have a lot of fun together, and I know the fans will be in for something special.”
Dierks added, “I think everyone knows Luke is the guy you call when you want to have a good time. If we have half as much fun hosting together as we do backstage, it’s going to be a great night.”
In a video announcing the team-up, Luke takes a call, presumably from Blake Shelton, who tells him he’s dropping out as co-host. He then walks into a bar and announces that he needs a new one: “somebody that loves country music, somebody that I’m a little better-looking than, kinda like last year, who wants to dance, sing, party in Vegas…” He’s then given several “signs” pointing to Dierks as the perfect co-host.
The ACM also announced its 4th ACM Party for a Cause Festival, which will take place April 2, 3 and 3, at the new Las Vegas Festival Grounds. The headliners will include Carrie Underwood, Dierks, and Kenny Chesney.
