Joseph Llanes/Dot RecordsIf you wonder what CMA day could possibly be like for a three-time nominee, first timers Maddie & Tae are only too happy to tell you — and they say it’s not too bad.

“That day is not that crazy. We’re starting at 10:30, which is like, we’re sleeping til noon that feels like,” Maddie says.

“Let’s get technical here,” Tae says, unlocking her phone. “I’m busting out the calendar, OK? This’ll be kind of a fun thing to do. So Wednesday, we have a Snapchat takeover, start at 10:30. We have rehearsals at 2, we finish makeup at 3:30 or at 4:30 and then something going on at 4:45, and then the CMAs. So nothing crazy… Basically just like getting ready and then nominated for three awards, which is not sinking in our brain whatsoever.”

That evening, Maddie & Tae compete for CMA trophies for Vocal Duo, New Artist and Music Video of the Year for “Girl in a Country Song.” The girls warn they’ll be a “hot mess” if they’re lucky enough to take home a trophy.

While they wouldn’t spill the exact details of what they’ll be performing, they do tease it will be an acoustic set where they play their instruments with their band. You can catch their performance and potential trips to the podium Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
