ABC/Mark LevineAfter getting engaged to fellow artist Ryan Hurd in July, Maren Morris is busy planning a spring wedding.

Even though the details are top-secret, the “I Could Use a Love Song” hitmaker has settled on a time, a location and the guest list — which she confesses was the hardest part.

Maren says the wedding itself won’t be too formal — it’ll be laid back, just like she and Ryan are.

“There’s definitely going to be margaritas and some Motown music and my dog will be there,” she tells People. “It’s going to be a complete reflection of both of our styles and tastes and I’m so excited to share it with everybody.”

As for her dress, Maren’s having it custom-made, inspired by the short one her mother wore back in 1989.

“She was a bada** and had this short wedding dress, so I sent it to this designer that I love,” Maren says. “I was like, ‘If we can do a modern version of my mom’s wedding dress just dreaming something up really cool but still throwback with her vibe, I would love to make that happen.’ So I’m just waiting to get sketches back but I know it’ll be perfect.”

In the meantime, Maren will compete for Female Vocalist, Music Video and Musical Event of the Year for “Craving You” with Thomas Rhett at the November 8 CMA Awards.
