CMAMiranda Lambert has always had a clear vision for what her music should sound like, but it took her awhile to get things right in the fashion department. At the beginning of her career, Miranda grew frustrated with stylists who didn’t understand how to flatter her body type.

“I really struggled in finding someone who understood my style, and not only that, but my body,” Miranda says. “I had a lot of bad experiences and a lot of experiences that made me feel insecure about my weight or the way I looked or whatever.”

She adds, “You can sound as good as you can sound, but it’s all over your face and your body language if you don’t feel comfortable in your skin and in the clothes you’re wearing.”

Thankfully, Miranda found her fashion guru, stylist Tiffany Gifford. Once they started working together in 2010, Miranda’s red carpet style went from down-home to show stopping.

Miranda says of Tiffany, “She always brought things and brought an attitude and a spirit about her that made me feel comfortable and put me in things that made me feel beautiful. I’m so thankful for her. It’s so nice to have someone just hand you something pretty and you know it’s gonna fit.”

Look for more of Tiffany’s fashion picks for Miranda on the 2014 CMT Music Awards airing June 4 at 8 p.m. ET. Miranda is set to sing “Somethin’ Bad” with Carrie Underwood during the broadcast. The song is included on Miranda’s new album, Platinum, in stores June 3.
