Burke/Triolo Productions/ThinkstockOscar winner Robert Duvall will make his Grand Ole Opry debut on August 18 serving as an announcer and performing the song “Cheyenne” from the movie Wild Horses. Also that night, Billy Bob Thornton will perform on the Opry for the first time as a member of his roots-rock band, The Boxmasters.
The CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock special aired Tuesday night on ABC and came in second only to NBC’s America’s Got Talent in the ratings race. The three-hour country special actually ranked #1 among all networks in the final 10 p.m. ET hour.
