ABCChange was in the air Wednesday night on the winter finale of Nashville, as a conversation with her ex, Gunnar Scott, prompted Scarlett O’Connor to break up with her boyfriend, Caleb, so he could move across the country to take his dream job in the Northwest.

Though now-out Will Lexington struggled with the idea of writing with seemingly anti-gay country legend Wade Cole, he was pleased to discover it didn’t seem to be an issue when the two worked one-on-one. But he was shocked when Wade came on to him, admitting he’s gay and his married life was just a front so he could continue his successful country career.

Luke Wheeler was blindsided when he learned he owed millions of dollars in back taxes because his business manager had been embezzling from him. He cleared up the mess with the IRS, but the fallout meant the end of his relationship with Gabriella Manning. Though he pleaded with his son Colt to move back home, the teen insisted on remaining with his grandfather.

Avery Barkley was skeptical when he learned his ex-wife, Juliette Barnes, had finished rehab and started treatment for postpartum depression. Eventually, he gave in to her doctor’s request and agreed to let Juliette see their daughter Cadence, as long as her assistant Emily was present.

The antics of rock star Markus Keen threatened to derail Rayna Jaymes‘ relationship with Deacon Clayborne, but they were back on track in time for Deacon to pop the question.
