Capitol NashvilleIt’s a pretty good time to be Jon Pardi, these days. This week, the Golden State native claims his third #1 in a row on the Mediabase chart with “Heartache on the Dance Floor.”

On top of that, Jon is up for New Artist of the Year at the upcoming CMA Awards, and his previous #1, “Dirt on My Boots,” is nominated for both Single and Song of the Year.

But the low-key cowboy is careful not to get too focused on winning his first CMA.

“I try not to get like, ‘Oh, it’d be so awesome!’” he says. “I mean, it’d be amazing, but the real trophies have been number-ones and gold records and fans showing up to the shows. I mean, in all else, do you want awards? Do you want sold-out shows and gold records? I mean, maybe I’d love to have all of it,” Jon admits.

So far, Jon’s current album, California Sunrise, has gone to #1 and been certified gold, along with his singles “Up All Night,” and “Dirt on My Boots.” “Head over Boots” has achieved platinum status, and many of the dates on his upcoming tour have already sold out.

“I just focus on my accomplishments, what I’ve done so far, instead of some award,” he insists. “I’d love to get it, but you know how it is. Man, there’s a lot of guys doing good, and I want everybody to get the awards. So I try not to be like, just dreaming about it, ‘What if I got it? It’d be so awesome!’ But it’s exciting though. You know, there’s a part of me that’s excited.”

Jon’s Lucky Tonight Tour with Midland and Runaway June kicks off October 12 in Birmingham, Alabama.
