ABC/Image Group LALANCO not only arrives at #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay ranking this week — they’re also making a little history with their debut single.

“Greatest Love Story” marks the first time in more than a decade that a new artist has written their debut single alone and then taken that tune all the way to the top of the chart. Lead singer Brandon Lancaster can claim bragging rights for that feat.

“It’s absolutely incredible to write a song that our entire band has believed in since day one… and for our years of hard work to finally pay off,” he says. “We built our foundation as a band on ‘Greatest Love Story’ because we believed in the power of country music storytelling. To see how much it has resonated with so many people makes us feel a little less crazy for believing in it so much.”

“Greatest Love Story” has already been certified gold by the RIAA, with LANCO’s full-length debut due in early 2018. The five-man band heads out on the Losing Sleep trek with Chris Young next year as well.
