Credit: The Patsy Cline MuseumPatsy Cline will soon be Johnny Cash’s upstairs neighbor in downtown Nashville. Bill Miller, the founder of the popular Johnny Cash Museum, is set to start construction on a similar structure honoring the country icon, who died in a plane crash at the peak of her career in 1963. It will occupy several thousand square feet above the Cash museum on Music City’s Third Avenue.
Opened in cooperation with Patsy’s children, the museum will feature never-before-seen pieces from the family’s personal collection, including the “Walkin’ After Midnight” singer’s personal possessions, costumes, awards, letters, furniture and photos. It’s set to be the largest collection of rare Patsy Cline artifacts in the world. No word so far on an opening date.
