BBR Music GroupThe day before the release of his latest album, Fired UpRandy Houser narrowly escaped a run-in with the law. Metro Nashville police officers pursued the Mississippi native past new landmarks like Music City Center and through iconic Music Row, igniting a flurry of interest from local news outlets and on social media.

The real story, though, is it was all fake. Nashville’s finest were in on it, aiding Randy in re-creating the chase scene from the epic music video for his current #1 hit, “We Went.” The payoff? Randy arrived at downtown venue Church — in his classic Pontiac Trans Am —  just in time to donate $10,000 worth of Eckrich Smoked Sausage to Second Harvest Food Bank. You can re-live the adventure via YouTube.

Along the way, Randy also proved he’s a talented multi-tasker. He was also en route to his evening show, where he celebrated his new album by playing a set for fans and Nashville insiders. Guests walked away with a souvenir copper Mississippi Mule mug, the Southern boy’s version of the Moscow classic.
