Joseph LlanesIt’s been more than three years since Randy Houser released a new album, but when he hits the road next month on his first headlining tour, he plans to debut some new songs.

“I don’t really have a date for the album yet but it’s getting fairly close to musically being done. I know we still have a photo shoot and a bunch of other stuff to do,” he says. “I’m really excited for our fans that we’ve gained over the last few years to hear our new music and just get something new out there. So I’m as excited as they are about that, because I’m ready to play some new songs!”

If you wonder what’s taken him so long, Randy says it’s actually an abundance of good songs that’s slowing down the process.

“I thought we were done and then I keep hearing these songs and I go, ‘Well we’re gonna cut that!’ So I’ll just cut those songs and we’ll get some vocals on ‘em and mix ‘em up and let’s just see what happens!” he says.

Randy finishes up his Kick the Dust Up dates with Luke Bryan at the end of October, before rolling out his headlining tour November 19 in South Bend, Indiana. Frankie Ballard and Craig Campbell join him on the trek. The tour takes its name from the lead single off Randy’s next CD, “We Went.”
